Empowering the youth
Contact the Forum
One of the Forum jeunesse’s main mandates is to promote youth citizenship participation in decisions made by society. In fact, the Government and all Regional Youth Forums work towards making youth talent and innovation shine by encouraging young people to take their rightful place within their community.

In this aspect, the Forum jeunesse is an essential resource to find out about involvement sites and young people who are willing to make a difference. Do not hesitate to contact us!

Management Committee

An excellent way to get involved is by becoming a member of the Forum jeunesse Vallée-du-Haut-Saint-Laurent. The Forum jeunesse Management Committee is indeed composed of 17 young people aged 16 to 35, whose main role is to provide the Forum with the expertise and knowledge regarding the realities and problems facing the youth in their environment and also help to establish, among other things, the FRIJ (approximately $2,400 000 until March 2014) management and allocation conditions.

Ten of these young people are territorial representatives; they represent, with the rest of their RCM, a specific region of the Forum. The young people interested in filling these positions must send their resume, a letter of interest and, if possible, a reference letter to their respective RCM, while mentioning the fact that they are looking to fill a seat on the Forum jeunesse Vallée-du-Haut-Saint-Laurent on their mailing piece.The RCM with the CLD, will choose one member.  A selection comitee will choose the other one;who represents the organisms; in this case, they must send all the information directly to the Forum.

The six other young people are sectoral delegates; certain specific issues dealt with by the Forum jeunesse are closely linked to their interests or area of expertise. Those interested in applying for this type of position must send in their application directly to the Forum jeunesse.

Nominations are held each year, between september and november. The administrators can exercise a maximum of three (3) consecutive mandates and must then be reselected either by their RCM Council for territorial representatives, or the Forum jeunesse Selection Committee.

To fill these positions, the FJVHSL is looking for young candidates who:

  • reside or work full time in the Vallée-du-Haut-Saint-Laurent;
  • want to reflect on and contribute towards the improvement of the living conditions of young people;
